Meet Dr. Stephens, Ed.D., LPC, LCPC, NCC, ACS

Dr. Stephens is a native of Alexandria, Virginia attending the well known TC Williams High School (class of 97!) All of her honorary degrees were received from George Mason University and Argosy University with her research focusing on the quality of life for overweight women.  Outside of Dr. Stephens identified research, she is a woman who believes in having a spiritual foundation along with assisting people reach their highest and fullest desires of their heart.  Dr. Stephens is a voice for the voiceless and a cheerleader for those needing the encouragement! Her spiritual faith is an important factor that adds to the overall quality of her life, along with exercise and enjoying time with friends and family…oh and shopping (*smiling*)!

Dr. Stephens counseling approach is a holistic approach to include family connections and inter-personal relationships.  Many of the issues people face in counseling is wanting to learn how to manage day-to-day stressors, however, the bigger issue is connected to past unaddressed issues, concerns or traumas.  Although she utilizes an array of therapy techniques, her main technique used is the strength within the rapport between the therapist and client combined with active listening to thoroughly grasp your concern and thoughts.
