Meet Dr. Stephens

Dr. Stephens is a native of Alexandria, Virginia attending the well known TC Williams High School (class of 97!) All of my honorary degrees were received from George Mason University and Argosy University with my research focusing on the quality of life for overweight women.  Outside of my identified research, I am a woman who believes in having a spiritual foundation along with assisting people reach their highest and fullest desires of their heart.  I am a voice for the voiceless and a cheerleader for those needing the encouragement! My spiritual faith is an important factor that adds to the overall quality of my life, along with exercise and enjoying time with friends and family…oh and shopping (*smiling*)!

My counseling approach is a holistic approach to include family connections and inter-personal relationships.  Many of the issues people face in counseling is wanting to learn how to manage day-to-day stressors, however, the bigger issue is connected to past unaddressed issues, concerns or traumas.  Although I utilize an array of therapy techniques, my main technique used is the strength within the rapport between the therapist and client combined with active listening to thoroughly grasp your concern and thoughts.
