SOCIAL MEDIA POLICIES ON TECHNOLOGY

In order to protect the integrity of our professional relationship and preserve our therapeutic alliance, the therapist at Hopeful Counseling do not make any personal contacts or connections on social media (i.e. Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.) with any former, potential, or current clients. It is unethical for us to do so.


TEXT MESSAGING

Although Hopeful Counseling does accept text messages from clients, this is not a secure or private method of communication. With that said, we will not respond to any text messages (only for critical situations). Although text messaging is not a secure or private form of communication you may be required to supply a password to be created to ensure confidentiality and privacy is maintained while using text messages. 

If you are experiencing a dangerous or life threatening emergency, please contact 911 immediately.

For mental health emergencies that are not life threatening, contact the nearest mental health services agency within your respective area. If you are unsure, please review the “RESOURCES” section to find a listing. If you are unsure of where to start, please contact your county's Emergency Services department. 

Depending on the circumstances, you could also call the 24-hr National Suicide Prevention Hotline for free at 1-800-273-8255 or the 24-hr National Domestic Violence Hotline for free at 1-800-799-7233.


CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellation by Client: Should you need to cancel your appointment, you have 24 hours from the time of your scheduled appointment date and time to notify us (e.g., email, phone call, voicemail, or text).  You will be charged 100% of the service rate if we do not receive a 24 hour notice of cancellation.

Running Late to Session: If you arrive 20 minutes or more to a session, the recommendation would be to reschedule, however, it is your choice if you would like to continue with the session for the remainder of your scheduled appointment. You will be charged the rate of the full session you had scheduled.

Cancellation by Me or Inclement Weather: If a therapist should have to cancel an appointment with you, you will be notified within the 24 hours from the time of your scheduled appointment via the preferred contact you provide on your intake form. You will be provided with an option to reschedule your appointment at this time. This cancelation is at no cost or penalty to you.
